The reopening of social works and projects which reaffirm the value and fulfillment of the Moncada program qualified the day of celebration on July 26th in the municipality of Baraguá, the seat of the central activities in Ciego de Ávila for the 67th anniversary of the attack on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes Barracks.
The ceremony was presided over by the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, and by the vice-governor, Ania Rosa Francisco.

In a day full of color and patriotism, the Provincial Bureau of the Party and the Government in Ciego de Ávila congratulated the effort made by the people in homage to the historical date, with the delivery of recognition to Yamilka González Riverón, president of the Municipal Defense Council.
The highest authorities of the PCC in the province and the municipality toured the works of social impact, among them the Library, the improvement of pharmacies, the Optician’s, several schools and warehouses, the children’s circle of Gaspar, the gas station and medical offices in that locality.

The legacy of the centenary generation was taken as an incentive by the workers of Gaspar’s gas station, which was renovated, to entertain the visitors and reaffirm the willingness to remain on the front line, while outstanding comrades were given the card that accredits them as militants of the Young Communist League.

Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, president of the Defense Council in Ciego de Ávila, continued the journey through other works completed with great social impact, the Pachi 3 water pumping station, which investment amounted to 73 thousand CUP and 12 thousand dollars, will benefit more than a thousand people, specifically from the town of Gaspar.
After arriving at the Post Office Unit, which has been remodeled and equipped with high technology equipment, improvements in working conditions were noted, while Lidisy Rodríguez Valero, General Director of that company, reported that in addition to the various and varied services offered, they will soon incorporate the international money transfers, a feature with great demand.
The inhabitants of this town lived a memorable day, in which the first secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, congratulated and called to continue strengthening the economy of the nation.
In spite of the negative impact of the blockade, and in the midst of the epidemiological situation caused by the new coronavirus, in the municipality of Baraguá, headquarters of the central activities for July 26 in Ciego de Ávila, various works of economic and social interest were carried out and others are being strengthened in order to raise the quality of life of the people.
