Still in the epidemic phase of COVID-19, Ciego de Ávila recovered in the last 14 days by decreasing its incidence rate by 14.9, which became the highest in the country, with an accumulated record of 162.7 per hundred thousand inhabitants.
This was reported by Health Minister José Ángel Portal Miranda in his speech this Tuesday during the V Ordinary Period of Sessions of the National Assembly of People’s Power in its IX Legislature.
In almost eight months of hard battle against the current pandemic, this central province maintains only two active transmission events, and an equal number of focus controls in the head municipality.
Like the rest of the Cuban parliamentarians, the Avilanian deputies consider the people’s health as a strategic principle for the effective confrontation of the COVID-19.
