Osmayda Hernández Veleño, a member of the National Secretariat of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC), congratulates the women of Ciego de Ávila on having obtained, together with the women of Granma, Artemisa and Guantánamo, the status of Outstanding in the emulation at the country level.
The leader, in her Facebook account, explains that the recognition is supported by the results in the organization and in the work of prevention and confrontation to the COVID-19.
Odelsys Valcárcel Pérez, maximum leader of the FMC in the province, informed that the work of the Women and Family Orientation Houses, and their dedication to social care tasks also stand out in the growth of their membership.
The participation in the production of food, the positive joint action with the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) and the existence of the FMC-ANAP brigades and the impulse given to family agriculture, are other parameters that prove the positive award, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the organization.
Founded on August 23, 1960, by Vilma Espín, under the encouragement of Fidel Castro, the FMC was born with the purpose of emancipating the women of the island and giving them a leading role in the social life of the country.
