Company from Ciego de Ávila redesigns its strategy in front of COVID-19

From the complex situation generated by the resurgence of the COVID-19 in the province of Ciego de Ávila, the Ceballos Agroindustrial Company redesigns its marketing strategy, enhancing the local sale of their productions.

In order to bring its products closer to the different popular councils of the province head territory, the most affected city by the disease, five mobile points of Frutávila were enabled, almost always close to the areas declared in epidemiological quarantine.

In this city, the unit La Excelencia continues to provide services, while in Morón and Ceballos the «Frutis» of the entity, which made available to the Avilanian population about 200 tons of fresh and industrialized products, among which sauces and dressings, juices, canned sweets, fruits, and vegetables, among others, have been in greater demand.

Last September, sales to the territory storage and trade companies surpassed six million pesos, while those made to the country’s capital were over five million, although D´Cballos also made shipments to other Cuban provinces.

One of the examples with more durability in time is the market La Vía Blanca, a unit located on the central Aguilera Street, in Santiago de Cuba, where a wide range of products from the company arrive, among them jams, juices, nectars, creams, preserves, pulps, vinegar, tomato puree, seasonings…

Previously, the market of excellence of the Hero City received up to 50 types of assortments, but the current limitations reduced the number to about 20, while still being present for the satisfaction of customers, knowing the quality of those, recognize managers of the unit of the eastern city.

Miguel Angel Pérez Leyva, the main specialist in Economic Management of the Commercialization Base Business Unit, informed that the total sales in the month of September surpassed 18 million pesos, with products such as guava bars, seasoned sauce, mango and guava jams, and frozen pre-fried potatoes.

Without neglecting the protection of its workers and the search for alternatives in the face of the limitations imposed by the current economic situation, which affects the acquisition of important inputs and spare parts, the company is working to maintain its contribution to feeding the people with the support of 17 mini-industries and to increase exports to generate income and contribute to import substitution.

Likewise, it maintains its support to the isolation center of Ceballos 8, where 38 of its workers work, plus another 80 who work in the Health Area where it is located.
