The state farmers and peasants of the province of Ciego de Ávila advance in the plantations of the cold season to complete about 17 thousand hectares of food.
The work of this stage will be extended until the end of February, in which they are working to extend the areas of plantains, rescue malanga, yucca, and sweet potato crops, and sow more areas of potatoes, according to authorities in the sector.
In view of the low levels of fuel and limitations with other resources, the lands are prepared with the rational use of the means, and the use of pairs of oxen to achieve high production, as indicated by President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
With the sowing of the cold campaign, Ciego de Ávila has the challenge of ensuring the shipment of food to several provinces of Cuba and to the tourism sector, as well as increasing the exports of several lines.
