The members of the Association of Fighters of the Cuban Revolution (ACRC) remember this March 5th, on the eighth anniversary of his physical disappearance, the legacy of Hugo Chávez Frías, whom Fidel Castro described as Cuba’s best friend.
Master Cecilio Jiménez Marroquí, head of the Internationalist Military Patriotic Secretariat of that organization in the territory, evoked the influence of the Bolivarian Commander, which transcended beyond the borders of his country, by joining together with the maximum leader of the Cuban Revolution and other progressive presidents of the region, a unique front, opposed to neoliberalism and the interference of the United States.
In this sense, Rolando Maché Jaminson, maximum representative of the ACRC in the province, recounted the actions of the «llanero sencillo» in the creation of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), the Unasur and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).
In the conclusions of the meeting, the Avilanian fighters were highly touched by the reproduction of the audiovisual showing the moment in which Chávez recommended Venezuelans to place their trust in Nicolás Maduro, a man with a firm hand, the heart of the people and international recognition.
