With strong arguments, members of the Federation of Cuban Women (FMC) in Ciego de Avila raised their voices against the blockade, when approaching the vote at the United Nations of the resolution presented by our country “Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US against Cuba”.
At the meeting held at the headquarters of the women ‘s organization in Ciego de Avila, Odelsys Valcárcel Pérez, general secretary of the FMC in the province, said that such a policy designed to cause hunger and desperation, will not prevent the construction of a happy future for our children.
The pedagogues who participated in the meeting presented the affectations that it brings to arts education and the difficulties in the procurement of teaching aids for children with special educational needs.
Other affiliated to the FMC, pioneers, retirees and housewives, reported the economic and human damages, in addition to the lack of medicines because of the blockade imposed by the White House.
The members of the Cuban Women Federation in Ciego de Avila raised their voices to demand the end of the criminal blockade, designed almost six decades ago to smother the revolution, which could not prevent full access of all Cubans to such important rights as the development of science and health.
