Salvador Valdés Mesa, First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba, continued his journey in the afternoon on Wednesday, by centers of economic and social interest of Ciego de Ávila.
In the morning he knew about the constructive stage of the 50 petro houses, which are built in Morón, to benefit families affected by Hurricane Irma.
In addition, he became interested in the Central Business Base Unit Ciro Redondo and the bioelectric plant, located in the municipality, where he received a detailed explanation on the progress of the investment process.
In the afternoon he exchanged with workers and managers of the “La Trocha” farm, and a small industry there, a local development project in Ceballos, leader in the province and specialized in selling fruit and processed and bagged vegetables, mainly for tourism.
Two of the other visited places were the graphics Unit NumberTwo of the publishing enterprise “Caribe” and the “Cepil” company “Juan Antonio Marquez”, of this province, the only one of its kind in the country producing plastic articles, inaugurated by Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.
In the provincial delegation of Agriculture, Valdés Mesa received an overview of the current stage of the agricultural system until the end of September in the voice of Orlando Pérez Pedreira, head of the sector in this central region of Cuba.
There, the political leader emphasized, among other things, in the need for Ciego de Ávila contribution to the national food balance.
In his government visit Valdés Mesa has been accompanied by the ministers Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment; René Mesa Villafaña, of construction and Raul García Barreiro, of Energy and Mines as well as political authorities of the territory.
Tonight, he will be able to hear the views of the people of Ciego de Ávila in a popular discussion of the draft Constitution.
