The Provincial Department of Dermatology in Ciego de Avila is strengthened from the implementation of projects of great benefit for patients with skin suffering, including oncological diseases.
Dr. Dunia Sotolongo Díaz, head of the staff in the hospital ´Antonio Luaces Iraola´, said that the early diagnosis of skin cancer by using the Dermatoscope has been of great benefit, because the diagnosis that this team promotes is reduced in important parts of body like the nose.
Díaz Sotolongo referred to the successful implementation of Heberferon in patients with carcinomas cell vessels or skin epidermoid, treatment showing amazing results in all tests to patients.
The provincial coordinator of such project, designed by the Center for Genetic Engineering and Molecular Biotechnology (CIGB), explained that these treatments have been extended to the hospital in Morón, the South polyclinic in Ciego de Ávila and they are working to bring it to other health areas of the territory.
Other novelties such as the introduction of restorative treatments for facial rejuvenation and hair restoration, using platelet – rich plasma, are being prepared by the Avilanians dermatologists as a sign of progress in this science worldwide, and from which Avilanians are benefitted.
