An image scanner to study diseases of the breast contributes to improving radiological images in the ´Antonio Luaces Iraola´ Provincial Hospital in Ciego de Avila .
Dr. Aramis Placencio Conception, head of the Imaging Service, explained that the digitization of this study enables a more effective diagnosis of that body part, both women and men and reduces radiation exposure.
For her part, the specialist in radiology María Quinta Santana said that despite maintaining the same mammography equipment with several years of use, digitization of images is formidable for obtaining a deep and accurate diagnosis.
Previously the service obtained two digitizers intended for X – rays, which equally enhance the quality of radiological analyzes that are performed in the department, service where studies of admitted patients are prioritized.
