Delegates in line with socio – economic priorities

64 delegates from the province of Ciego de Avila to the final sessions of the XXI Congress of the Workers’ Central Union of Cuba visited key centers of the economy and services to meet the outcomes and commitments of their collectives as tribute to the great trade union appointment and May 1.

In the tour of the areas of the Company ´La Cuba´, in the municipality of Baraguá , its director Carlos Blanco Sánchez, reported that they exceed far the production plan of meats, vegetables and grains in more than a thousand tons, and emphasized that the continuous improvement of working conditions and other benefits led to increased productivity and the average monthly wage per worker exceeds 1500 pesos.

Meanwhile, Wilver Bringas Fernández, director of Agro Industrial Enterprise Ceballos, explained that the organization sells its products wholesale basis in all the provinces of the country with an annual amount of 370 million pesos of revenue, 19 million in tourism and more than nine million are exports.

Osley Pérez Martínez, director of the Fruit Business Base Unit, told the visitors that Mango is the main crop with 1 744.6 hectares. Meanwhile, Héctor Benítez Mora, General Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the CTC, said that this unit belongs to the first exporter pole in Cuba, led by ´Ceballos´ agribusiness.

The delegates also visited facilities of the tourist destination ´Jardines del Rey´, where they were briefed on the development program of investments until 2026 in the Keys Coco, Guillermo, Paredon and Anton Chico. In addition, they went to ´Pillar One´ hotel and the Dolphin aquarium in Cayo Coco, which works were recently delivered by the building companies.

It was learned that the construction company for Tourism (ECOT) in Ciego de Avila, turned out to have the best results among the entities of its kind in the country in 2018. At that stage 18 workers received the Accomplishment Labor medal and 138 other the Labor Feat certificate in recognition to the recovery works of the infrastructure affected by hurricane Irma. While the staff reached the 80th anniversary of the CTC flag this year.

Contact members of the delegation avileña workers in different sectors of the economy will end in the next few hours, in a meeting with the provincial departments of the Party and the Government.
