
More than 100 young people from Ciego de Avila today star a cycling march to commemorate the crossing of the “Trocha” from Júcaro to Morón by Antonio Maceo and the final formation of the invading army.
After 123 years of these transcendental events of our history, cyclists belonging to various sectors depart from the “Plaza de la Revolution Máximo Gómez” to an area of the obelisk of the former Spanish military enclave in central Cuba.
This Thursday a cultural political act is developed at the site for the date of November 29, 1895, which joined in Ciego de Avila lands 10 Generals of the heroic deeds for independence.
The march of Ciego de Avila young people around the Morón-Júcaro Trocha also recalls the encounter of Gómez and Maceo in the location of the town of Lazaro Lopez, where the invading army was finally restructured.
