The peasant movement in Ciego de Avila strongly condemned the activation of Title III of the Helms Burton Act, designed to crush the Revolution and the Cuban people in the provincial act for the Day of the farmer.

In the municipality of Bolivia, the most outstanding of the province in the country work, the act was carried out in salute of the 70th anniversary of the promulgation of the first Agrarian Reform Law, with a commitment to further increase food delivery.

The mass meeting for the anniversary of the May 17th brought about presentation of awards to cooperatives and farmers, including men like Alexander Ramirez and Roberto Claudio Sardison, creditors of the ´Romárico Cordero medal´.

As part of the activities for the Farmer´s Day the distinction ´Antero Regalado´ and a Commemorative Stamp for the 70th anniversary of the signing of the Agrarian Reform Law were also awarded in Ciego de Avila.
