A first prize and a special mention won the local journalist Iraida María Hernández Prado in the XII edition of the National Competition ACLIFIM-UPEC, which convenes every year the Cuban Association of Persons with Disabilities Physical Motor and the Union of Journalists of Cuba.

Iraida María won the first prize for print media with the interview entitled “For a world without barriers”, a journalistic portrait of the president of that organization in the province, Julia Ferrás, and that the jury assessed as “a thorough analysis of the need to expand the culture of the people on disability because mental barriers limit as much as architectural “, as stated in the report of the opinion.

The journalist of the local newspaper ´Invasor´ also received a special mention with the comment “mental barriers” that deals with certain language attitudes that exist in some places in relation to the presence of people with disabilities, an alert that is emphasized in some chapters of our Constitution.

These awards support the journalistic work of Iraida María Hernández Prado, who works in the weekly avilanian ´Invasor´ since 1987 with a trajectory that includes attention to several sectors, prizes and awards in various competitions and news events.
