Chaired by Carlos Luis Garrido Pérez, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba in Ciego de Avila , it took place the flag delivery to the delegation that will represent the province in the IX Congress of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC).
The banner that identifies the artistic and literary vanguard of the territory to the important event, was received by Alberto Fernández Pena, president of the Provincial Committee of the organization in Ciego de Avila, and head of the avilanian delegation.
They are also part of the representation of the City of Portales to the meeting Angel Broche Ruedas, Jorge Luis Neyra Pérez de Corcho, Nelson Aragón Martínez and Yoan Zamora.
In addition, as guests they will attend Virginio Menéndez Moro, Provincial Director of Culture in Ciego de Avila and Yamila Cruz Padrón, head of the ideological department of the Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba in the territory.
The appointment was propitious to remember the words of our undefeated Commander in Chief Fidel Castro expressed on June 30, 1961, facing a large and diverse audience of artists and writers at the National Library José Martí, in which he defined the principles of cultural policy of the Revolution, on the basis of a broader and more inclusive participation and defense of ethical and humanistic values that characterize the Cuban people.
